How To Become An Emeriti
While each college follows its own process for awarding emeriti status, the process typically begins when a retiring or retired faculty member informs his or her department chair that he or she wishes to become an emeriti. Upon departmental review and approval, the chair forwards the recommendation to the dean of the college, who adds his or her own recommendation and forwards the request to the provost , who sends it to the President’s office for final approval. When you are awarded emeriti status, you automatically become an Association member.
No paperwork is necessary and no dues are required.
