Programming Includes:

Library Website: Take a tour of the library website.  Learn how to find collections, search online databases and journals from home, and get your questions answered.

All About CURVE: Learn about the transformation of the 2nd floor of Library South into CURVE: Collaborative University Research & Visualization Environment. CURVE will bring together students and expert researchers from all disciplines in a hands-on, interactive environment that will facilitate knowledge creation through the visualization, analysis, and sharing of data.

Atlanta Map Projects: The library is involved in several exciting digital map projects that help students and other researchers better understand the Atlanta metro area, its history, and “the complex challenges of cities,” as mentioned in the University’s Strategic Plan.  This session will provide an overview of some of the latest tools and allow attendees to explore different areas of the metro region.

”Using Genetics for Genealogy”: This workshop will introduce emeriti faculty to the fundamentals of human DNA inheritance (mtDNA, autosomal DNA, X, and Y chromosomes) and will demonstrate how that  information is used by genealogists to find family connections and to map historical migration patterns and ancient origins.
